Type Mask

Pick a picture you want to paste into your text. Select > All; then Edit > Copy; then File > New.

On your new image, select the "T", hold down and scroll down to the T that's a marquee, as shown below:

Type in your text. It will show up on a pink background (temporarily), as shown below:

Click on the move tool, as circled below. This will make your text into "marching ants":

Select Edit > Paste Into:

This will paste your picture into your text.
Next, select your move tool (selected below), and you can move around the background until you're happy where it is.

If you'd like, apply layer styles - Layer > Layer Style, and then pick one like Drop Shadow.
That will bring up the box shown below. I also chose Bevel and Emboss.

Crop, and voila!
