Of all the places I've visited, I'd have to say Svartifoss - Black Falls - was the most memorable.

In order to get to the waterfall, you have to hike a little over a mile (about 2 kilometers). The terrain getting there is fairly easy but it's up and down all the way there.

The surroundings of the falls are columns of basalt--enormous, magnificent columns. They are far bigger around than I am, and they drop off all around the water.

This is such a beautiful waterfall, and I hope to return again someday.
