How can this be?!
My taxpaying self is outraged.
I booked flights for my parents to come visit us in January. 2 tickets from Chicago O’Hare to Barcelona and then on to Sevilla. Round trip.
Plus we’ll even include the cost of 6 round trip tickets from Jerez to Paris during that time, which is the cost of my parents plus the four of us flying out for a long weekend.
All of that comes to under $1500. Total. For 2 round trip cross-continental flights and 12 inter-Europe (one-way) flights.
For me to fly from Jerez to Naples, Italy for 4 days (for a 3 hour trial) will cost $2,169.
I just shake my head at the cost of contracted services with the military sometimes. It’s outrageous.

Military wont fly you on JETBLUE though. I remember all of my buddies would get the cash from the military, find their own travel arrangements, and pocket the difference. That was quite popular when I was in. I wouldn’t think of doing something so wrong……….
